GeoLocs by mkodo has officially launched Fraud Shield, a new fraud detection and player risk management solution built for regulated gaming operators worldwide.
The platform is designed to help operators identify, investigate and prevent fraudulent activity across a range of threat types that continue to grow in sophistication.
Fraud Shield targets specific problem areas including account sharing, multi-accounting, location spoofing, bonus abuse and collusion between players on gaming platforms.
The launch arrives at a time when operators are facing increasingly advanced attempts to circumvent platform controls and exploit promotional offers for financial gain.
Industry estimates place the annual cost of fraud to the online gambling sector at approximately $1 billion, with activity rising sharply as bad actors adopt more refined techniques.
Fraud Shield extends the GeoLocs offering beyond its core geolocation functionality, providing operators with deeper visibility into suspicious player behaviour and account activity.
The tool is built to detect device manipulation, compromised and jailbroken devices, suspicious behavioural patterns, and coordinated bonus abuse or collusion schemes.
Operators can configure their own risk thresholds and response rules, allowing the platform to automatically apply actions based on real-time player behaviour and detected fraud signals.
Will Whitehead, Commercial Director at GeoLocs, highlighted the pressure fraud teams are currently working under across the regulated gaming industry.
“Fraud teams are under increasing pressure to move quickly while ensuring legitimate players aren’t caught up in the process,” said Whitehead. “The challenge isn’t simply identifying suspicious activity. It’s understanding which signals matter, prioritising risk appropriately and responding with confidence.”

Fraud Shield is available as part of the broader GeoLocs compliance, geolocation and fraud management suite for regulated gaming operators.
