BetComply Secures Swedish Permit For Playbook Fusion In Under Two Weeks

Regulatory consultancy BetComply has helped boutique games studio Playbook Fusion obtain its Swedish permit as the developer prepares to expand into further regulated markets.

The UK-based compliance firm guided Playbook Fusion through the Swedish approval process, with the studio receiving the green light in less than two weeks.

Playbook Fusion is the developer behind a real-money football management betting game, a product BetComply describes as requiring a deeper level of regulatory expertise.

The complexity of the product and the specific requirements involved in securing market approvals made specialist compliance support particularly important for this jurisdiction.

The Swedish permit follows an ongoing partnership between the two companies that began last year, when BetComply supported Playbook Fusion with its UK Gambling Commission licence.

BetComply also helped Playbook Fusion secure an MGA recognition notice and an ISMS certification with eCogra for its Playbook Football product during that earlier phase of the relationship.

BetComply has confirmed it will continue supporting Playbook Fusion with regulatory approvals across a number of additional jurisdictions as the studio builds out its international footprint.

Steve Rogers, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Playbook Fusion, highlighted the importance of having a compliance partner that understands the nuances of its product alongside the regulatory demands.

“As we take Playbook Fusion into more regulated markets, every jurisdiction brings its own requirements and complexities,” Rogers said. “BetComply understands both the regulatory side and the nature of our product, which makes them an invaluable partner as we scale.”

Mike de Graaff, Chief Compliance Officer at BetComply, praised the studio’s approach to entering new markets with compliance embedded from the outset rather than treated as an afterthought.

“Playbook Fusion is moving quickly, but it is doing so with compliance built into the process from the beginning,” de Graaff said. “Sweden is another important step, and we are already supporting the team across a number of additional jurisdictions as Playbook Fusion continues its international expansion.”

This partnership forms part of a broader period of growth for BetComply, which has also recently partnered with Omnitronix and iGP as it strengthens its standing within the wider gambling industry.

The firm struck a similar arrangement with Solidicon last year, further demonstrating its focus on supporting gaming businesses through complex multi-jurisdictional licensing processes.

De Graaff has been a vocal advocate for compliance standards across the industry, previously stating that the time is now for real-time compliance as regulators across Europe ramp up enforcement measures.
