BETBY Launches SlotBets To Merge Casino Mechanics With Live Sports Betting

B2B sportsbook supplier BETBY has unveiled a new product called SlotBets, designed to bridge the gap between casino gameplay and live sports wagering.

The company describes SlotBets as an entirely new gameplay category, coining the term “slotbetting” to define what it believes is a distinct and recognisable form of interactive entertainment.

The product transforms the traditional sports betting experience into a fast-paced, slot-style format, integrating sportsbook and casino mechanics into a single unified product.

Basketball was selected as the launch sport for the SlotBets format, chosen specifically because of the game’s rapid pace and naturally occurring stoppages that suit the product’s structure.

Those stoppages contribute directly to the gamification layer through a feature called the Pause Bonus, which adds towards payout multipliers and keeps players engaged during breaks in play.

The core format is built around 15-second betting rounds that are directly tied to a live sporting event, blending real-world action with familiar casino mechanics such as reels and multipliers.

Kirill Nekrasov, Head of Innovation and R&D at BETBY, explained the thinking behind the product, saying it began with a straightforward but important question about accessibility for casino players.

Nekrasov said: “SlotBets started with a very simple question: why should a casino player need to become a sportsbook expert before they can enjoy betting on sport?”

He added: “We wanted to create something immediately understandable, but still genuinely powered by the live event. That is why the sport cannot simply be decoration around a casino mechanic. Every basket, miss, foul, stoppage or quiet interval can influence the game, so the match is continuously building the SlotBet in real time.”

Nekrasov outlined broader ambitions for the SlotBets category, drawing comparisons to the growth trajectory of Crash Games as a recognised format within the igaming industry.

He stated: “Our ambition goes beyond launching one new product. We believe SlotBets Games can develop its own recognisable mechanics, terminology and player expectations, in the same way that categories such as Crash Games did before. We are introducing a new way to play sports, and we call it slotbetting.”

The product signals a shift in how sportsbook suppliers are approaching player acquisition, specifically targeting casino audiences who may have previously found traditional sports betting too complex to enter.

By anchoring each betting round to live match events, BETBY ensures the sporting action remains central to the experience rather than serving as a mere backdrop to casino-style features.

The SlotBets launch marks a significant strategic move for BETBY as competition among B2B sportsbook suppliers continues to intensify across regulated markets worldwide.
