SBC Summit’s dedicated Western Europe track will bring together operators, regulators, and industry leaders to confront the mounting pressures reshaping Europe’s most mature gambling markets.

The track is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 30 September, hosted on the Global and Emerging Markets Stage during the three-day event.

Discussions across the programme will span developments in key markets including the Netherlands, the UK, Italy, Scandinavia, and Portugal.

The growing influence of prediction markets and technology’s role in protecting long-term commercial revenue will also feature prominently throughout the sessions.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and Founder of SBC, addressed the rationale behind the track and the challenges European operators currently face.

Sojmark said: “Western Europe is home to some of the world’s most established regulated gambling markets, but maturity doesn’t necessarily mean stability.”

He added: “Rising taxes and shifting regulation mean companies now have to navigate a genuinely complicated period. This track is about understanding what operators can actually do next.”

Among the highlighted sessions is Prediction Markets: The Future’s Not Near, It’s Here, which will examine what European operators and regulators can learn from rapid US prediction market growth.

A second featured session, Portugal’s Gambling Evolution: Growth, Pressure and New Opportunities, will assess where future growth can be unlocked as online revenues rise alongside tighter compliance demands.

Beyond the formal conference agenda, delegates will have access to SBC Summit’s Regulatory Gaming Meetups, covering markets including Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, and the Nordics.

These focused meetups are designed to bring together operators, regulators, legal experts, and market specialists to discuss specific regional challenges in a structured environment.

SBC Summit will run from 29 September to 1 October 2026 at Feira Internacional de Lisboa and the MEO Arena in Lisbon.

The event is expected to attract more than 40,000 industry professionals for three days of conference content, exhibition space, and networking opportunities.

Access to the conference programme requires a Conference, Business, or VIP Pass, though operators and affiliates may be eligible for a complimentary pass.
