Sky Bet Launches Ghost Leg Feature To Give Bet Builder Customers A Competitive Edge In 2026/27 Premier League Season

Sky Bet has unveiled Ghost Leg, its latest innovation for the pre-match bet builder product, timed to coincide with the new Premier League campaign.

The feature was first made available during the opening week of the EFL season on 14 August before being restricted exclusively to Premier League markets from 21 August onwards.

Ghost Leg operates as a token system, with customers receiving one token per week between 9:00am Friday and 11:59pm Monday throughout the Premier League season.

The token can only be applied to BuildABets containing five or more legs, with a combined minimum odds requirement of 3/1 or greater, and customers must opt in to become eligible.

When a single leg of a qualifying bet builder loses, Ghost Leg removes that selection and settles the bet at revised odds, provided all remaining legs win.

Sky Bet’s Commercial Director described the thinking behind the product, saying the operator wanted to go further than simply converting losing bets into winning ones.

“When developing Ghost Leg, we wanted to look beyond simply turning losing bets into winning ones,” said the Commercial Director, with the focus instead placed on giving customers greater flexibility and a better chance of winning.

“Ghost Leg stood out because it gives customers more flexibility while keeping the excitement of building and following a multiple bet,” the Commercial Director added, explaining why the concept resonated during customer testing.

Ghost Leg joins a suite of existing features, with the Commercial Director noting that “Acca Freeze and Super Sub both give customers more ways to win” by addressing familiar frustrations like early substitutions and teams throwing away leads.

Sky Bet’s confidence in its bet builder heritage is clear, with the Commercial Director stating: “We’re proud of our record,” while pointing out that the operator and RequestABet have “historically led the way in same-game parlays.”

The bet builder format has grown into one of the most significant products in British sports betting, sitting alongside the traditional accumulator as a cornerstone of football wagering across all levels of the game.

Bet builders were widely cited as central to 2026 World Cup betting activity, with bookmakers from the Czech Republic, Croatia, and Sweden all referencing their importance during the tournament.

Sky Bet also highlighted recent product improvements made during the World Cup, including settling player props on 120 minutes rather than 90 for knockout stage matches, broadening the appeal of its player market offering.

The Commercial Director framed the overall ambition succinctly, asking: “Why would you place your Bet Builder anywhere else?” as Sky Bet looks to maintain its leading position heading into a highly competitive Premier League season.
