Midnite Appoints Dale Tang As General Manager To Drive Canadian Market Entry

Midnite has hired former FanDuel executive Dale Tang as its General Manager in Canada, signalling a major push into the North American market.

Tang brings considerable experience to the role, having spent five years at FanDuel across a series of increasingly senior commercial positions in Canada.

He first joined FanDuel as director of its Canadian commercial arm, where he was directly responsible for leading the operator’s entry into the country.

His most recent position at FanDuel was Senior Director of Canada Commercial, Analytics and Retention, a role he held for seven months before making the move to Midnite.

Before his time at FanDuel, Tang spent three-and-a-half years at Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, holding posts that included Director of Strategy Development.

His background spans both private operator experience and public gaming sector knowledge, making him a well-rounded appointment for a market as regulated as Ontario.

Midnite originally launched in 2018 as an online sportsbook before significantly broadening its product portfolio in 2023 to include horse racing and online casino offerings.

The Canada launch forms part of a broader international expansion strategy that the company has been building toward following its most recent funding round.

That round raised $35 million, with the funds earmarked to “scale operations, accelerate development of best-in-class products and support international expansion.”

A key priority identified by Midnite following the raise is scaling its product and engineering capabilities as it pursues what the company describes as Tier 1 ambitions.

Midnite develops its entire platform in-house, with all engineering teams currently based in the United Kingdom, giving the business full control over its technology stack.

That proprietary approach is expected to support the speed and flexibility required to adapt products for new regulated markets like Canada’s increasingly competitive iGaming landscape.

With Tang now in position and funding secured, Midnite appears well-placed to make a significant impression on the North American market in the months ahead.
