Infingame, a major B2B aggregator in the iGaming sector, has published new operational insights revealing that non-slot content is emerging as one of the fastest-growing drivers of player engagement across modern casino platforms.
The company reports that crash games, live casino, sweepstakes, instant games, and social-style mechanics are all claiming a steadily increasing share of player activity across operator environments.
While slots remain the single largest revenue contributor in online casino, operators are moving away from slot-dominated strategies as player behaviour becomes more fragmented across demographics, devices, and markets.
Aggregated data from across the Infingame platform indicates that brands maintaining a more balanced content mix consistently outperform those relying primarily on slots when measured by core engagement metrics.
“The conversation has changed,” said Jana Filagina, head of Commercial at Infingame. “Operators used to compete on the size of their slot libraries. Today, they compete on the diversity of experiences they offer.”
Filagina added that different player segments now expect different types of entertainment, and a single vertical is no longer sufficient to maximise long-term retention across a broad player base.
Infingame attributes the shift to several converging forces, including the rapid growth of mobile-first gaming, younger audiences entering the market, and stronger demand for shorter and more interactive gaming sessions.
Crash games are identified as one of the fastest-growing categories in emerging markets, combining short game cycles, real-time decision-making, and multiplayer participation in a format that performs especially well on mobile.
“Speed has become a product feature,” Filagina explained. “Players don’t always want to commit to twenty-minute sessions. Many now prefer experiences that deliver excitement in seconds while still offering strategic decision-making.”
Sweepstakes content is also noted as one of the industry’s fastest-expanding categories, with operator interest accelerating as brands explore new audience segments and jurisdictions where traditional real-money gaming remains restricted.
Internal analytics show that players exposed to multiple content categories explore more providers, interact with a broader range of titles, and remain active across more sessions than those engaging exclusively with slots.
This behaviour has raised the commercial importance of recommendation systems, lobby personalisation, and intelligent content merchandising as operators work to ensure players actually discover the full breadth of available content.
“The strongest portfolios are no longer the largest ones. They’re the ones where every content category has a strategic purpose,” Filagina said, noting that slots generate scale while crash games create frequency and live casino builds trust.
Looking ahead, Infingame expects non-slot content to account for an increasingly significant share of operator investment as competition intensifies and player expectations continue to evolve throughout the industry.
