Frogo CEO Volodymyr Todurov Explains How Device Fingerprinting Stops iGaming Fraud Without Disrupting Operations

In the iGaming, e-commerce and fintech sectors, fraud rarely announces itself through obvious channels but instead exploits overlooked vulnerabilities in existing systems.

Operators facing this reality often reach for the most comprehensive anti-fraud solution available, triggering costly, disruptive platform overhauls that can paralyse daily operations.

A more targeted alternative is gaining traction across the industry: deploying device fingerprinting as a standalone modular layer rather than as part of a full infrastructure replacement.

Traditional fraud signals like IP addresses, cookies and email verification are no longer sufficient defences against modern fraudsters who rotate residential proxies and use specialised spoofing tools with ease.

Device fingerprinting works differently by analysing how and where a user interacts with a platform rather than simply reviewing the credentials they submit.

The technology collects deep hardware, software and network signals including GPU rendering nuances, browser engines, OS builds, WebRTC leaks and proxy detection data.

These signals are synthesised into a unique digital signature, meaning that even when a fraudster changes their IP address and clears their browser history, the device’s underlying identity remains identifiable.

For iGaming operators specifically, this capability directly counters multi-accounting syndicates that use automated tools to drain promotional budgets or manipulate betting lines at scale.

Standalone fingerprinting also flags affiliate fraud by identifying when thousands of supposedly unique conversions originate from a tightly linked cluster of devices, protecting marketing budgets.

Account takeover attempts are similarly addressed when a correct password appears alongside a device configuration that deviates significantly from a user’s established historical profile, triggering an isolated MFA step.

Frogo CEO Volodymyr Todurov argues that the industry has moved past the assumption that serious fraud prevention demands total system replacement across an organisation.

“In the past, businesses believed that robust fraud prevention required a massive, all-or-nothing platform migration. But today’s digital landscape moves too fast for that,” said Todurov.

“Forcing an organisation to completely overhaul its existing, fine-tuned infrastructure just to patch a visibility gap isn’t just inefficient – it’s operational friction,” he added.

“True agility means having the surgical precision to plug in advanced device intelligence exactly where it’s needed, protecting your perimeter without disrupting your momentum,” Todurov continued.

A standalone fingerprinting script can be integrated via API in a matter of days, giving risk teams immediate real-time visibility into incoming traffic without cross-departmental disruption.

Beyond catching bad actors, high-fidelity fingerprinting also identifies trustworthy returning users, allowing operators to fast-track those players to a seamless gaming experience and improve conversion rates.

The device tool functions as an advanced data provider, passing a clean risk score and device ID to existing internal scoring engines or manual review teams.

This hybrid architecture allows companies to significantly strengthen their security posture without taking on the operational risk associated with migrating to an entirely new platform.

Todurov explained that Frogo is now opening its proprietary device fingerprint tool as a standalone module in direct response to what the market is asking for.

“At Frogo, our philosophy has always been about making elite fraud prevention accessible and fully manageable, rather than overly rigid. We listen closely to the market and we recognise that many agile risk teams don’t need an entirely new ecosystem – they just need better eyes at the gate,” he said.

“That is why we are opening up our proprietary Device Fingerprint tool as a standalone module. We want to give businesses the freedom to access enterprise-grade device forensics on their own terms, enabling them to catch risks with lightning speed and convert potential losses into predictable profit,” Todurov concluded.

The broader direction of fraud management in iGaming and adjacent sectors points firmly toward modular, adaptable toolkits that operators can deploy selectively rather than monolithic systems demanding total commitment.
