Spanish gaming giant Cirsa has secured a majority stake in Paraguayan omni-channel operator Slots del Sol for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition covers Slots del Sol’s iGaming platform at slotsdelsolonline.com, along with two casinos and two gaming halls across the landlocked South American country.

Slots del Sol operates across both land-based and digital channels, a structure that aligns closely with Cirsa’s own established omni-channel strategy across multiple markets.

The deal marks Cirsa’s formal entry into Paraguay, a market considered linguistically and culturally similar to other Latin American territories where the company already has a significant presence.

Cirsa CEO Antonio Hostench praised the target business, saying: “Slots del Sol has demonstrated exceptional performance, with outstanding capabilities in online operations.”

Hostench further commented: “We are delighted to partner with its founding shareholders and are confident that we will be able to combine our global experience and best-in-class capabilities with their local knowledge and expertise to drive future growth.”

The CEO also noted that “the transaction will contribute to improving the margins of our online gaming business,” signalling clear financial logic behind the strategic move.

Cirsa executive chairman Joaquim Agut described the deal as central to the company’s broader online ambitions, stating: “This acquisition reinforces Cirsa’s strategic commitment to accelerating growth in the online gaming space.”

Agut added: “Paraguay represents an attractive and highly stable regulated market, with strong fundamentals, and Slots del Sol provides us with a leading platform from which to continue expanding our online capabilities in the region.”

Cirsa cited Paraguay’s stable regulatory environment and growing economy as key factors that made the market attractive for long-term investment and expansion.

The company also framed the deal within its wider international diversification strategy, reinforcing a pattern of targeted acquisitions in regulated markets with strong growth potential.

While precise financial terms were not disclosed, Cirsa confirmed the transaction multiple is consistent with previous deals and will be funded entirely through available cash reserves.
