Allwyn AG has appointed Khalid Reede Jones as CEO of Allwyn North America, with the former Virginia Lottery executive set to begin his new role on 6 July.
Jones will be based out of Allwyn’s Chicago, Illinois office as he takes the helm of the company’s North American operations.
His primary focus in the new position will be expanding Allwyn’s footprint across the United States lottery sector in a meaningful way.
That work will include supporting the Illinois Lottery in Allwyn’s capacity as an operating partner, though it will not extend to majority-owned fantasy sports brand PrizePicks.
Jones brings more than two decades of senior executive experience spanning lottery, gaming enforcement, licensing, and private investment to the position.
His most recent role was executive director of the Virginia Lottery, a position he held between April 2024 and March 2026 before joining Allwyn.
Earlier in his career, Jones worked across a range of organisations including All American Licensing, The Kolier Group, SourceRock Partners, BuckleySandler, and Thrasher Funds.
Allwyn CEO Robert Chvátal said: “Khalid brings a rare mix of regulatory insight, commercial experience and a genuine commitment to responsible growth.”
Chvátal added: “A digitally minded leader who understands the power of partnerships and innovation, I know his perspective and energy will be hugely valuable to our North American business.”
The North America appointment is the latest in a string of senior hires Allwyn has made as the company continues building out its global leadership team.
In August 2025, Allwyn appointed former Betfred US chief executive Kresimir Spajic as CEO of its newly created digital division, covering iGaming, Sportsbook, and digital product capabilities.
At the end of last year, Tatiana Jouanneau joined the company as group chief brand officer, taking on responsibility for growing the Allwyn brand across regions worldwide.
Allwyn also confirmed this week that it has finalised its legal redomiciliation to Switzerland following the completion of its merger with Greek lottery and gaming operator OPAP.
The company was previously domiciled in Luxembourg despite having maintained its operational headquarters in Lucerne, Switzerland, since 2020.
Following redomiciliation, Allwyn AG will retain both its existing corporate name and OPAP’s listing on Euronext Athens.
