Tim Miller has joined Spectrum Gaming Group as a senior regulatory advisor, adding to a growing portfolio of roles across the regulatory consulting space.
The appointment follows Miller’s recent launch of his own consultancy, GamReg Consulting, which he established ahead of taking on these new positions.
Miller had already secured a strategic advisor role with Gaming Compliance International before this latest addition to his professional commitments.
In his new capacity, Miller will work as an independent senior regulatory advisor supporting Spectrum’s global portfolio of government and regulatory clients.
Spectrum Gaming Group CEO Fredric Gushing welcomed the hire, stating: “Tim Miller’s expertise and leadership will enhance our mission to build trusted gambling markets.”
COO Juliann Barreto also offered her thoughts, saying: “Tim’s UK and European experience will strengthen our advisory capabilities, supporting our global clients in navigating complex regulatory landscapes.”
Spectrum has been a fixture in the gaming regulation advisory space since 1993, serving both government agencies and private sector clients including operators and suppliers.
The firm’s announcement highlights Miller’s background in pushing through policy and regulatory reforms, as well as his work driving research and strategy around gambling harms.
His credentials also include participation as a member of the UK Government’s Illegal Gambling Task Force, which reinforces his standing as a serious figure in the regulatory world.
Miller has made clear his intentions to be selective about who he works with, telling NEXT.io he would only partner with “organisations that I feel comfortable protect my independence.”
He also signalled a clear direction of travel for his consultancy work, stating plainly: “This isn’t going to be just another compliance consultancy.”
Spectrum has recently found itself drawn into high-profile industry disputes, having been commissioned to produce an internal report for Evolution as part of its investigations into alleged activities connected to its long-running dispute with Playtech.
The Miller appointment underlines Spectrum’s continued push to deepen its regulatory expertise as governments worldwide grapple with increasingly complex gambling market challenges.
