BoyleSports has signed French football legend David Ginola as the face of its latest marketing campaign, designed to promote its new Squad Builder product.
The Ireland-headquartered bookmaker launched Squad Builder ahead of the 2026/27 football season, giving customers a fresh way to engage with player performance across major leagues.
The product allows punters to select between two and five players, then choose from seven statistical targets, with their chosen players’ performances combining towards an overall squad total.
Ginola, who enjoyed spells at Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, speaks directly to camera throughout the campaign to walk viewers through how the product works.
The creative approach reportedly drew inspiration from the Oscar-winning film The Big Short, lending the campaign a distinctive cinematic quality that sets it apart from traditional betting advertising.
BoyleSports described the campaign as combining “cinematic storytelling, humour and Ginola’s unmistakable personality” as the operator looks to drive awareness and adoption of the new product.
The Ginola campaign follows a strong pre-season push from BoyleSports, which included headline sponsorship of the friendly between Manchester United and Leeds United at Croke Park in August.
That match was officially renamed the BoyleSports Cup 2026, further cementing the bookmaker’s growing presence in high-profile football sponsorship across Britain and Ireland.
BoyleSports is also Leeds United’s official betting partner in the UK and Ireland, making the Manchester United fixture a particularly fitting platform for the brand.
Gill Blake-Swift, Director of Brand at BoyleSports, explained the thinking behind the campaign’s creative direction and the decision to bring Ginola on board for the project.
Blake-Swift said: “We wanted to create something that people would genuinely enjoy watching; a piece of entertainment first, not simply another betting advert.”
She added: “We saw Squad Builder as an opportunity to push the creative further, with more confidence, personality and cultural relevance.”
Blake-Swift also spoke directly to why Ginola was the right fit for the campaign’s tone and ambition given the product’s complexity.
“David has the charisma to make the idea work immediately and the inspiration behind the film gives us a brilliant way of explaining a new product without making it feel like a demo,” she said.
The campaign signals BoyleSports’ broader ambition to build its brand through premium creative content rather than conventional promotional advertising formats.
