Everton And Stake Extend Partnership With Sleeve Sponsorship Deal To Navigate Premier League Shirt Ban

Everton has signed a multi-year renewal with casino operator Stake, restructuring the arrangement to comply with the Premier League’s upcoming front-of-shirt gambling sponsorship ban.

Under the revised agreement, Stake will serve as the club’s official sleeve partner, with its branding appearing on players’ shirt sleeves throughout the 2026-27 campaign.

The partnership extends beyond the pitch, with Stake securing a presence across Everton’s official matchday and digital channels throughout the season.

Branding will also feature inside the club’s Hill Dickinson Stadium, reflecting the broader commercial scope of the newly restructured deal.

Stake’s visibility will stretch further to Goodison Park, the club’s former home that now houses the Everton Women team, and the Finch Farm training facility.

For the previous four seasons, Stake had been Everton’s main partner, with its logo positioned prominently on the front of players’ shirts.

That arrangement has now been amended following a change in Premier League rules that prohibits gambling brands from appearing on the front of shirts from the 2026-27 season onwards.

The new rules do, however, permit other commercial arrangements, including sleeve sponsorship and branding placement in and around stadiums, giving clubs a viable path forward with existing gambling partners.

Both Everton and Stake confirmed they would continue to ensure all partnership activity is delivered “responsibly and in full compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards and marketing requirements.”

Everton is far from alone in needing to reconfigure its gambling partnerships ahead of the new season, which kicks off in mid-August.

During the 2025-26 campaign, as many as 11 of the Premier League’s 20 clubs featured a gambling brand on the front of their shirts.

Among those partnerships were Aston Villa with Betano, Crystal Palace with NET88, Nottingham Forest with Bally’s, and Sunderland with W88.

The ban applies only to top-flight clubs, meaning teams in lower divisions can still carry gambling companies as their primary shirt sponsor.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, who were relegated at the end of the 2025-26 season after wearing DEBET on their shirts, have since signed with gambling operator Midnite for their return to the second-tier Championship.
