Tonybet has praised Leopardstown Racecourse for delivering racing of the “highest quality” following their sponsorship of the Group 2 Solonaway Stakes on Saturday.
The online bookmaker is now in its third successive year as title sponsor of the Solonaway Stakes, cementing its position as one of Irish racing’s most committed commercial partners.
This year’s renewal produced a highly talented winner in Quddwah, trained by the father and son training partnership of Simon and Ed Crisford.
The Crisford team were no strangers to the Solonaway, having previously landed the Group 2 prize with Jadoomi back in 2022, marking their second victory in the mile contest.
The nine-race card at Leopardstown attracted widespread attention throughout, with the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes producing one of the most dramatic results of the season.
Rank outsider Hotazhell, sent off at 50/1, claimed the Group 1 prize in a result that stunned racegoers packed into the famous Dublin venue.
The extraordinary card drew a post-COVID record crowd of 11,516 spectators to Leopardstown, underlining the enduring appeal of the Irish Champions Festival as one of the sport’s flagship occasions.
Dmitry Arabuli, CEO of Tonybet, expressed his delight at the day’s proceedings, saying: “Firstly, we’d like to thank Leopardstown for putting on such an amazing feast of racing.”
Tonybet brand ambassador Tony Cascarino was also present at the racecourse, soaking up the atmosphere among thousands of enthusiastic fans throughout the afternoon.
Cascarino, speaking at Leopardstown, said: “I love being at the races, you can’t beat it, and Irish Champions Festival has to be right up there. Seeing all the fans around the parade ring and in the stands at Leopardstown is great, there’s been a real buzz around the place.”
The Tonybet Solonaway Stakes remains the bookmaker’s flagship racing sponsorship, with the brand continuing to strengthen its ties to premium thoroughbred racing in Ireland.
With a record crowd, a stunning upset in the feature race, and another high-class Solonaway winner, Tonybet’s third year of involvement with the Irish Champions Festival delivered on every front.
