Regulatory compliance consultancy BetComply has announced three strategic hires as it moves to broaden and deepen the support it offers clients across global markets.
The appointments signal a clear intent from BetComply to scale its capabilities in response to increasingly demanding regulatory environments across the iGaming and wider gambling industry.
Tiago Scoda Botelho joins the firm as Regulatory and Licensing Compliance Officer, bringing a background in corporate law alongside senior compliance roles at both bet365 and 3 Oaks Gaming.
His remit will cover regulatory compliance, licensing applications, and ongoing global operational support for BetComply’s client base across multiple jurisdictions.
Commenting on the move, Botelho said: “BetComply has built an excellent reputation for practical, hands-on compliance support. I’m looking forward to helping clients navigate increasingly complex regulatory requirements.”
Renald Micallef has also joined the consultancy, stepping into the role of AML and Responsible Gaming Consultant with more than 16 years of risk management experience across several gambling firms.
His career includes a significant stint with Nederlandse Loterij, the Dutch state lottery operator, giving him a distinctive perspective on compliance in state-regulated gambling environments.
Micallef welcomed the opportunity, saying: “I’m delighted to be joining a team with such deep industry knowledge. BetComply’s approach is focused, pragmatic and closely aligned with what operators actually need.”
Completing the trio of new appointments is Tina Singh, who has been named Technical Compliance Consultant and brings 17 years of experience across international regulated markets in both land-based gaming and iGaming.
Singh cited the firm’s reputation as a key draw, noting it holds a “strong reputation for combining technical expertise with practical support” before adding: “I’m excited to bring my experience to the team and help clients meet complex technical compliance requirements across multiple markets.”
Loes Wetzer, Operations Director at BetComply, expressed enthusiasm for all three appointments and outlined what they bring to the organisation going forward.
Wetzer said: “Tiago, Renald and Tina bring significant experience and we’re delighted to have them join BetComply. Their appointments add further depth to our team and ensure we can continue providing clients with informed, commercially practical compliance support as regulatory demands evolve.”
The three hires reflect a broader trend across the iGaming sector, with operators and consultancies alike investing heavily in compliance infrastructure as regulators worldwide tighten their frameworks.
