Sportsbook and iGaming solutions provider Digitain has appointed Dario Jurčić as its new chief commercial officer for Europe and Africa.
Jurčić’s primary remit will be to accelerate growth across key regions on both continents as Digitain pushes further into regulated markets.
He will also oversee Digitain’s expanding commercial operations within its current and soon-to-open European hubs.
The structure is designed to support the company’s progress across key regulated markets, including the United Kingdom.
Digitain secured a betting licence alongside sportsbook and platform certification in the UK back in February, marking a significant milestone for the business.
Jurčić brings considerable industry experience to the role, having spent almost a decade at sports data and technology firm Sportradar.
During his time at Sportradar, he held several leadership positions, most recently serving as senior vice president of iGaming and platforms.
Before joining Sportradar, he worked for Austrian banking organisation Addiko Bank and Mostar, which forms part of Austria’s Hypo Alpe-Adria banking group.
Ani Mkrtchyan, chief sales officer at Digitain, described the appointment as a major boost for the company’s leadership team going forward.
Mkrtchyan said Jurčić is an “exceptional addition” and highlighted the value his background brings to the business at a critical stage of its development.
“As we continue to expand in regulated markets and further strengthen our position across Europe, Dario’s experience and strategic vision will play a key role in deepening our partnerships and delivering even greater value to our partners,” she said.
Jurčić himself expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity, pointing to the strength of Digitain’s existing commercial foundations across the two target regions.
“Throughout my career, I’ve focused on building scalable platform businesses and helping operators succeed in highly competitive regulated markets,” he said.
“I see a strong opportunity to further strengthen Digitain’s position across Europe while supporting its expansion throughout Africa,” Jurčić added.
He also noted that the groundwork is already firmly in place, saying: “There is a strong foundation already in place. I see a significant opportunity to further elevate the company’s commercial reach and brand positioning.”
