Allwyn AG has confirmed the appointment of Fredrik Ögren as its new group chief technology officer, marking another significant leadership change at the lottery and gaming giant.
Ögren joins from Betsson, where he spent seven years before departing in August, most recently serving as the Swedish operator’s chief technology officer.
During his tenure at Betsson, Ögren held several director-level positions across the group before rising to the top technology role.
Prior to joining Betsson in August 2019, Ögren built his career at some of Sweden’s most prominent newspapers, including Dagens Industri and Expressen.
In his new role at Allwyn, Ögren will take ownership of the company’s overall technology strategy and direction across the group.
He will report directly to Allwyn Digital CEO Kresimir Spajic, placing him at the heart of the company’s senior leadership structure.
Brett Cross, who had been serving as interim CTO, will transition into a newly created position titled CTO of Global Lottery and Deputy Group CTO, reporting to Ögren.
Ögren commented on his new position, saying: “Technology plays a critical role in creating great player experiences, enabling innovation and supporting long-term business success.”
Spajic was equally enthusiastic, stating: “Fredrik brings deep industry experience, strong technical expertise and a proven track record of leading technology transformation across global organisations.”
Spajic continued: “His appointment is an important step in building a more scalable technology platform across the group, helping us deliver even better experiences for our customers and partners.”
This appointment forms part of a broader wave of management changes at Allwyn, as the company works to reshape leadership at both group and regional levels.
Allwyn has been actively restructuring its executive team in recent months, reinforcing its ambitions to build a stronger and more scalable global technology and gaming operation.
