Infingame And Jana Filagina Reveal What Actually Drives Sweepstakes Game Performance

Infingame, a leading aggregator in the iGaming industry, has published findings from its internal session data examining what makes games succeed in sweepstakes environments.

The aggregator tracked performance across its sweepstakes-focused game catalog and found that real-money casino titles rarely translate directly into strong sweepstakes engagement.

The sweepstakes model has become one of the fastest-growing distribution channels Infingame currently serves, prompting closer examination of what drives repeat player behaviour.

A recurring pattern emerged from the data: moving a successful real-money slot or table game into a sweepstakes lobby unchanged does not guarantee comparable player engagement.

Jana Filagina, head of Commercial at Infingame, explained that operators repeatedly raised the same concern about underperforming titles crossing over between brands.

“Operators kept asking us why a game that was a top performer on their real-money brand was landing in the middle of the pack on their sweepstakes brand,” said Filagina.

“Once we looked at the session data side by side, the answer wasn’t about the game being worse. It was built for a different relationship between the player and their money, and sweepstakes players don’t have that relationship.”

Drawing on session-level observations across its aggregation ecosystem, Infingame identified four recurring patterns among titles that generate stronger retention in sweepstakes settings.

Titles that maintain momentum through frequent feedback, smaller wins, and steady pacing tend to hold attention better than games built primarily around high-stakes anticipation.

Games that communicate their core mechanic quickly also demonstrate a stronger ability to convert initial discovery into continued play among sweepstakes audiences.

Return mechanics were found to outperform added complexity, with Infingame observing that giving players a simple, clear reason to come back tomorrow can be more valuable than layering depth within a single session.

For operators building sweepstakes portfolios, Infingame cautions against relying solely on historical GGR or real-money ranking data as a predictor of sweepstakes performance.

The company recommends evaluating titles based on first-session continuation, repeat visits, rounds per session, interaction with progression mechanics, and performance among newly acquired players.

These metrics, rather than legacy performance data, should guide decisions about which titles earn long-term lobby visibility in a sweepstakes environment.

“What matters is being able to see what players actually respond to, test different content quickly and adjust the portfolio based on behaviour rather than assumptions. The operators that get this right won’t necessarily have the biggest lobby.”
