Mira Mircheva Steps Down As Bally’s Corporation CFO With George Papanier Named Interim Replacement

Bally’s Corporation has announced that Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Mira Mircheva has submitted her resignation from the company.

Mircheva notified Bally’s of her intent to resign on August 30, 2026, citing personal reasons for her departure from the organisation.

Her resignation is formally effective September 4, 2026, though she will remain with the company through September 30, 2026, to support a smooth leadership transition.

The company confirmed that Mircheva’s departure was not the result of any dispute with Bally’s or its leadership team.

To steady the financial division during this period, the Board of Directors has appointed George Papanier as Interim Chief Financial Officer, effective September 4, 2026.

Papanier will retain his existing roles as President of Bally’s and as a sitting member of the company’s Board of Directors while serving in the interim CFO capacity.

The dual responsibility places significant weight on Papanier’s shoulders at a time when Bally’s is navigating considerable uncertainty about its longer-term direction.

Papanier is well-suited for the challenge, bringing over 40 years of gaming industry experience and deep financial expertise to the interim role.

A Certified Public Accountant by qualification, he has served as President of Bally’s land-based casino operations since October 2021, giving him a thorough understanding of the company’s financial structure.

Before that, Papanier served as Bally’s President and Chief Executive Officer from February 2011 to October 2021, having originally joined the company as Chief Operating Officer back in 2004.

This is not his first time stepping into the CFO role on a temporary basis, as he previously served as Interim Chief Financial Officer for Bally’s during 2023.

Bally’s Board of Directors has already begun a formal search process to identify and appoint a permanent Chief Financial Officer to fill the vacancy left by Mircheva.

Chief Executive Officer Robeson Reeves paid tribute to the outgoing CFO, saying: “On behalf of the entire Board and executive management team, I want to thank Mira for her dedication to Bally’s and we wish her great success going forward.”

The executive change adds another layer of complexity to Bally’s current situation, as the company continues to face questions surrounding its strategic and financial future.
