Flutter Entertainment is making PokerStars the primary poker product across its UK brands, beginning with Betfair before expanding to Sky Bet and Paddy Power later this year.
The integration represents one of the most significant structural shifts in the UK online poker market in recent memory, consolidating Flutter’s domestic offering under a single poker platform.
Flutter’s stated aim is to improve liquidity by connecting multiple brands through the PokerStars platform, creating a large multinational player pool across the entire PokerStars Network.
By unifying these brands under one poker product, Flutter expects to deliver a more competitive and attractive environment for players across all three of its major UK operations.
The migration is also a key component of Flutter’s broader omnichannel and cross-sell strategy in the UK, one of its largest international markets and among the top five biggest gambling sectors globally.
The existing PokerStars UK platform will continue to operate during the transition, but Flutter plans for the brand, product, and all its customers to eventually migrate fully to the Betfair Casino platform.
Flutter holds similar ambitions for Sky Betting and Gaming and Paddy Power, with PokerStars set to sit alongside existing online casino products on each respective brand.
One pool of liquidity will be shared across all three brands and the wider PokerStars .com network, significantly expanding the player base available to poker tables and tournaments.
Betfair’s Kim Dally described the PokerStars integration onto Betfair as a “powerball moment for the industry,” signalling the scale of what this consolidation could mean for UK online poker.
The migration arrives at a pivotal time for Flutter, with Dan Taylor, current Chief Executive Officer and President of International brands, set to take the helm as Group CEO from long-serving Peter Jackson in October.
Taylor’s remit has included UK and Ireland operations, meaning the migration will unfold under a leadership transition that could shape Flutter’s strategic direction for years to come.
With the Betfair integration serving as the opening move, all eyes will be on how Flutter executes the subsequent rollouts across Sky Bet and Paddy Power before the year is out.
