Slightly Edgy, the mechanics-first slot studio, has officially released Toothless Smile, a darkly comic horror-satire slot distributed worldwide through Yggdrasil.
The game is set inside the surgery of the Demon Dentist of Dent Street, trading jump scares for sharp, purposeful game mechanics throughout.
Built on a 5×5 grid with 40 paylines, Toothless Smile features a layered bonus structure designed so every symbol serves a clear mechanical function.
The studio’s “no dead symbols” philosophy runs through every feature, with the X-Ray Sheet dropping random multipliers of 2x to 5x, with a maximum of one per reel.
These multipliers stack when multiple X-Ray Sheets land simultaneously, giving players the potential for compounding wins across a single spin.
Painkiller Pills appearing on reels 2 and 4 trigger 10 retriggerable Free Spins, while Fake Teeth send players into the dentist’s basement for a Pick-a-Prize bonus.
Depending on the trigger, players receive 5, 10, or 15 picks, each shattering a jar to reveal cash prizes, extra picks, and additional multipliers.
For players seeking guaranteed action, the Golden Bet feature locks X-Ray Multipliers between 2x and 5x on every single spin without exception.
A Buy Bonus option also provides a direct route into 10 or 20 Free Spins or up to 15 basement picks for those wanting immediate bonus access.
Toothless Smile is classified as a medium-high volatility release, carrying a default max win of €96,214, equivalent to x9,621.4, alongside a 94% global RTP and a 23.6% hit frequency.
The Slightly Edgy Marketing Team stated: “You can’t separate the theme from the mechanics in Toothless Smile; that’s the point.”
The team added that the X-Ray Multipliers visually replicate a real x-ray, complete with period-correct purple colouring, reinforcing the horror setting at every level.
“Nothing on screen is decoration, and nothing on screen is filler,” the marketing team confirmed, highlighting the studio’s commitment to cohesive, intentional design.
Senior animator Yana Hoha described her personal connection to the project, saying: “When the Slightly Edgy team pitched the concept, I knew straight away I wanted to work on it because I’m a huge fan of dark and creepy atmospheres.”
Hoha explained that while developing the art style, she pictured the game as a window into Sweeney Todd’s house, focusing on atmosphere over outright fear.
“My focus was on bringing that atmosphere to life by combining different worlds and adding details that make the environment feel creepy and interesting, rather than scary,” Hoha said.
Toothless Smile is now available to all operators live with Yggdrasil as of 28 July 2026, with availability varying by jurisdiction.
