UK Tote Group has strengthened its senior leadership structure by promoting Paddy Desmond to Chief Operating Officer and bringing in a new B2B Chief Commercial Officer.

Eugene Delaney has joined the pool betting operator in the newly defined B2B CCO role, adding significant commercial experience to the group’s leadership bench.

Delaney arrives with a strong industry background, having previously served as B2B Director at Spotlight Sports Group before taking on that position.

He also held the role of Commercial Manager at Paddy Power earlier in his career, giving him broad experience across both media and bookmaking sectors.

Desmond’s journey within UK Tote Group began in 2024, when he initially joined the organisation on a part-time consultancy basis.

He subsequently moved into more permanent senior roles, taking on the positions of Chief Strategy Officer and CCO for Ireland as the business evolved.

In January of this year, Desmond was appointed to the Chief Revenue Officer post, a role he held before this latest promotion to Group Chief Operating Officer.

CEO Alex Frost praised the appointments and outlined the strategic thinking behind the restructured leadership team.

“These changes to our senior team ensure we have dedicated leadership across both sides of our business,” said Frost.

“Paddy has an outstanding track record in our consumer business and a deep understanding of racing, and his expanded role reflects the confidence we have in him to lead our growth,” Frost added.

The dual appointments reflect UK Tote Group’s intent to maintain distinct and focused leadership across its consumer-facing and B2B operations simultaneously.

With Desmond overseeing operations and Delaney driving commercial B2B strategy, the group now has dedicated executives steering each major pillar of its business model.

UK Tote Group has been actively reshaping its leadership structure, and these latest moves suggest the organisation is positioning itself for a period of accelerated growth and expansion.
