Genius Sports has wrapped up a record-breaking football season, reporting a 16.6% increase in football margins for outsourced trading customers using its Edge software.

The NYSE-listed technology group deployed Edge across European leagues throughout the 2025/26 season, delivering measurable margin and reliability gains for sportsbook operators worldwide.

Edge, launched in 2024, functions as Genius Sports’ automated sportsbook pricing and optimisation platform, built on advanced machine-learning layers that monitor real-time betting activity.

The software is engineered to recalculate odds at the fixture level, correlating customer betting activity across bet types including Match Result, Double Chance, Correct Score and Bet Builders.

This season, 20 new customers across Europe, Latin America and Asia adopted Edge to strengthen their sportsbook pricing strategies and improve overall profit margins.

New markets covering shots, shots on target, score or assist, fouls and goalkeeper saves were rolled out across pre-match, in-play and Bet Builder products during the campaign.

Tackles and offsides are also set to be added to the platform ahead of the 2026/27 season, further broadening the range of automated pricing tools available to operators.

James McKiernan, Commercial Director at Genius Sports, said: “The 2025/26 season was another year of growth and investment across our football trading and engagement products.”

McKiernan added that “Edge delivered significant margin improvements across football, while the expansion of BetVision, official data coverage and advanced modelling helped operators maximise uptime and deepen customer engagement.”

Beyond pricing, Genius Sports highlighted its BetVision interactive live-streaming platform, which generated a 22% increase in customer retention compared to standard streaming experiences.

Retention rates proved especially strong in Brazil’s Serie A, where BetVision delivered a 53% uplift, with Turkey’s Super Lig at 35% and Italy’s Serie A at 20% also posting notable gains.

French Ligue 1 viewers spent 22% longer watching content through the BetVision platform, underlining the product’s ability to drive deeper audience engagement across major leagues.

Genius Sports also pointed to the expansion of player proposition markets and richer Match State data as tools enabling operators to offer a broader range of in-play and Bet Builder selections.

These developments are expected to be particularly significant heading into this summer’s FIFA World Cup 2026, where operator demand for scalable, reliable pricing infrastructure will be at its peak.

McKiernan stated: “At the World Cup, operators need reliable pricing and content to perform at scale. We’re seeing strong uptake across outsourced trading, Edge and our expanded MultiBet product ahead of Thursday’s opening game.”

He concluded: “Heading into the 2026/27 domestic season, we’re excited to invest further in our football product as we continue to lead the way.”
